New Staff: Robert “Bear” Johnson

New Staff: Robert "Bear" Johnson

All the way from Seattle, Washington, Robert Johnson, known as “Bear,” is Eudora High School’s new Head Custodian. Bear worked at the Eudora Early Learning Center and Eudora Elementary School previously, also doing custodial work. Before he became a custodian, Bear worked for a wholesale company in Seattle, Washington. He then decided to move to Eudora, Kansas, to be closer to his family.

“I come from a small town like this. I like this quiet, small, peaceful town,” Bear said.

Transitioning from being a night custodian to a full-time day custodian has been a positive transition for Bear. It’s busier, more spontaneous, and he gets to interact with students and staff. During the night shift, things tend to get repetitive. During the day, new and different tasks are given. Every day is something new and interesting.

“It’s a lot busier and not monotonous,” Bear said.

Bear hopes to continue to be a familiar face to the students and faculty and keep Eudora High School a clean and healthy environment for everyone.

“Be cool to your school,” Bear said.
