“Zootopia 2” came out on Nov. 26, 2025. If you enjoyed 2016’s “Zootopia”, you’ll most likely enjoy this new film. It follows the story of Judy Hopps, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, voiced by Jason Bateman, as they try to uncover the truth of Zootropolis’ history, with the help of Gary De’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, and Dr. Fuzzby, voiced by Quinta Brunson.
Judy and Nick have just become partners for the Zootopia Police Department and seem to be getting ahead of themselves. They try to overcome how people feel about them being partners with them being a fox and a bunny. It’s a story that you can connect to real life, the mammals in the movie are discriminating towards the reptiles and I think it’s a really nice message, especially for kids to see.
I actually really enjoyed it. I thought the dialogue went great with the overall vibe of the movie. There were some jokes thrown in, and I had some good laughs. All the names and products were really creative and matched the atmosphere that was created with the whole city being animals and everything tying back to that.
It also definitely had a great plot twist; I didn’t see it coming, and it felt very well written. Along with that, there was a lot of suspense throughout the entire movie, and it was a heartwarming ending. The character development was really good for both Judy and Nick, and the way they worked through their problems and came back stronger made the mood in the movie more hopeful and happy.
I would recommend this movie if you want something fun and lighthearted to watch. It wasn’t repetitive and built off the storyline in the first movie pretty well. I don’t think you would necessarily need to see the first movie beforehand, but it does add some context to some of the things happening in the story and just some of the things they talk about.
